Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) Strengthens Maternal and Child Health in Sinjar District Through the DELIVER in HEALTH Project

HMOW remains dedicated to empowering women and improving community health, with a particular focus on maternal, child, and newborn health (MCNH) in Sinjar district. Through its programs, HMOW provides essential healthcare services to vulnerable populations, especially those affected by conflict.
As part of its commitment, HMOW is actively engaged in the DELIVER in HEALTH project in partnership with Première Urgence Internationale (PUI), funded by the Centre de Crise et de Soutien (CDCS). This initiative aims to enhance MCNH services for displaced and returnee communities in Ninewa by strengthening local healthcare systems and expanding community-based support networks.
The project focuses on:
Enhancing HMOW’s capacity to deliver community-based MCNH assistance in Sinjar.
Improving local healthcare services to better serve conflict-affected populations, particularly the Yezidi community.
Through collaboration with PUI, HMOW continues to build its organizational strength by refining its structure, developing leadership, and expanding technical expertise in Mother-to-Mother Group Facilitation and Child Resilience activities through I CAN groups.
By promoting mental health support, increasing healthcare access, and implementing MCNH best practices, the DELIVER in HEALTH project fosters resilience and well-being among vulnerable communities in Sinjar. HMOW remains committed to driving sustainable improvements in maternal and child health, ensuring a healthier future for women and children in the region.
