Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) Completes Livelihood Project in Sinjar and Sinuni, Empowering 165 Women

Sinjar/Sinuni – March 11, 2025 – The Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) has successfully completed its Livelihood Project in Sinjar and Sinuni, equipping 165 women with essential skills in seedling production, recycling, and organic farming to foster economic self-sufficiency. This initiative, which ran from February 16 to March 11, was supported by UN Women, UNFPA, and Al-Messalla, reinforcing a commitment to sustainable development and women's empowerment.
A critical component of the project was an intensive eight-day practical training phase from March 2 to March 11, during which participants had the opportunity to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world settings. This hands-on experience was designed to enhance their ability to generate income and contribute to local environmental sustainability efforts.
Currently, HMOW is in the process of selecting beneficiaries who will receive essential assets to support their entrepreneurial endeavors. A total of 44 women—24 from Sinuni and 20 from Sinjar—will be chosen based on specific selection criteria to ensure the greatest impact on their economic independence and community resilience.
HMOW remains steadfast in its mission to empower women, promote environmental sustainability, and drive long-term community resilience in Sinjar and Sinuni. By equipping women with the tools and knowledge necessary for self-reliance, the organization continues to lay the foundation for a sustainable and prosperous future in the region.
