A Decade of Yazidi Resilience: Uniting for Transitional Justice and Reviving Sinjar
03/08/2024 - On the tenth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide committed by ISIS, we remember this tragic event and seek to remind the world of its harsh reality. Despite the passage of ten years, the effects of the genocide remain evident, with thousands of Yazidis still missing and numerous mass graves yet to be opened.
We call on the international community to convene a conference to address Yazidi issues and establish an international fund for the reconstruction of Sinjar, while holding all supporters of ISIS accountable.
We also urge the Iraqi government to implement transitional justice, prosecute the perpetrators, rebuild Yazidi areas, and compensate the affected individuals.
Sinjar is safe with its people, and its revival is a collective responsibility.
