Dr. Nagham Nawzat Hassan Participates in Conference Marking International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

19/06/2023 - On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Dr. Nagham Nawzat Hassan, Executive Director of the Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW), participated in the annual conference organized by the Supreme Council for Women and Development in the Kurdistan Region, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the Federal Government, the Lalish Cultural Center, and international partners, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNFPA.

The conference served as a platform for raising awareness about the urgent need to address violence against women and to promote policies and initiatives aimed at eliminating all forms of gender-based violence. Dr. Hassan actively contributed to discussions, highlighting the critical role of civil society organizations in supporting survivors and advocating for stronger protections and services for women.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, local and international organizations, and community leaders, to reinforce the commitment to women's rights and to exchange knowledge on best practices for combating violence against women. Dr. Hassan's participation underscored the importance of continued collaboration between local and international entities in the fight to end violence and ensure a safer, more equitable future for women in the region.
